Connect In Korea
Connect In Korea (ConnectInKorea.weebly.com) is an initiative that seeks to bring together everyone from all walks of life to discuss on any aspects about digital media and social media consumption in South Korea.
With rich social media content such as podcasts, videos, infographics, visualisations, blog posts, curated content and Wiki pages, coupled with multiple touch points such as Twitter, Facebook, Delicious, Naver and Me2day, Connect In Korea strives to create a holistic learning and entertaining experience for all who wants to learn about digital media in South Korea. For both Koreans and for our international audience, feel free to post your comments, email us your observations, like our Facebook page, or simply tell us what you want us to post on our website!
This initiative was started in 2011, done by 4 students from the Singapore Management University (SMU) and one exchange student from Korea University. We thank our mentor - Professor Michael Netzley, for his humor, experience and patience while guiding us through this project.

Digital Media In South Korea (Wiki Page)
South Korea - a high-tech industrialized economy, the world's 13th largest economy (in terms of purchasing power parity), the world's 8th largest exporter and one of the most connected nations in the world with high broadband penetration rates and a tech savvy population.
She also has the world’s fastest average Internet connection speed at 14.6 Mbps. The government is constantly looking to upgrading the network, there are plans to bump the connection of every household in South Korea to 1 gigabit per second by 2012.
With such an advance economy having a highly-developed and integrated Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, this sets the way for a dynamic and highly active social media consumption behavior in its highly-educated citizens. South Korea will continue to be the bedrock for social media innovation and a fertile ground for accelerated growth in the digital media market.
This is one market we should not neglect.

Digital Media in Asia (Wiki Page)
Digital Media In Asia - The world's most comprehensive wiki dedicated to digital media throughout Asia. This wiki is our humble attempt to serve the PR & marketing community by 'curating' Asia-specific content in one easy-to-use location.
In 2007, students at the Singapore Management University created this wiki and updated the content twice a year. The original Digital Media Across Asia wiki covered most major markets in greater Asia and attracted 7000+ unique visitors per month. Not bad for a small university project using, for the first time, social media to enrich classroom learning. And while initially focused on social media (sometimes called 'Web 2.0'), the site now discusses almost anything useful to readers like you...professional communicators and fans of everything digital.
Our mission became clearer in 2008 when a Swedish PR professional working in China contacted Prof. Netzley and requested information about the South Korea market. Where could he find such information? The wiki! This request became the project's central organizing principle and we hope the wiki proves useful to all the real and metaphorical Swedish professionals living in country X and studying market Y.
In 2011 we started rebuilding on a Mediawiki platform. We want to create a more media-rich and user-friendly experience. During Q3 we will be embedding video, audio podcasts, RSS feeds, infographics, and more, making it easier for your to use these pages.
Whether you are interested in social media in Asia or South Korea, social networking in Indonesia on Hong Kong, Internet filtering in China or Australia, mobile social networking in Singapore or Japan, or emerging markets such as India, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand...we hope this wiki helps you find the information you need.
